2020 is bringing MANY exciting and new things to Five Shen Wellness!!!
Beginning in February, we will be hosting TWO new events; these will both take place consecutively on the FIRST FRIDAY of each month: (1) “Let’s Talk Herbs,” a FREE educational/informational talk and (2) a Community Herb Clinic.
“Let’s Talk Herbs” is a FREE 1-hour conversation and discussion about varying herb related topics to include specific health related issues/concerns to individual herbs & herbal formulas.
Tentative Topic Schedule:
– February: meet the Doctors & practitioners at Five Shen and general Q&A/FAQ
– March: we will talk common individual herbs, known well in both Eastern and Western herbalism.
Ashwagandha, Ginger, Cinnamon, Skullcap, Turmeric, & more!
– April: Digestion & Gut Health
After the talk, we encourage you to stick around for our Community Herbal Clinic. This clinic will give you an opportunity to consult with the Doctors and licensed practitioners at Five Shen on your specific health concerns/needs and get a personalized formula made!
We believe that access to affordable, wholistic healthcare is a right, not a privilege. At the Five Shen Community Herbs Clinic we strive to offer our services at a rate that is accessible to all. Simply pay whatever is comfortable for you on the sliding scale. Folks who are able to pay on the high end of the scale help subsidize those who cannot, and together we create a mutually supported community of healing.
The Community Herbal Clinic operates once a month on the first Friday of the month from 11am to 1 pm and is staffed by the doctors and licensed practitioners of Five Shen Wellness. The clinic is open for walk-in consultations and by appointment as well. We recommend scheduling if possible, priority will be given to those with appointments and completed paperwork. First-time consults expect 30-45 minute appointments and follow-ups are typically 15-20 min in length.
What is an Herbal Consultation?
An herbal consultation is an opportunity to sit down in a calm and relaxed environment and discuss your health concerns. Health concerns commonly addressed include anxiety, stress, depression, anger, frustration, insomnia, trauma, pain, inflammation, autoimmune disorders, menstrual irregularity and issues, low immunity, colds, flus, coughs, infections, respiratory conditions, digestive issues, skin problems, heart and circulatory conditions, and more.
Herbalism is a wholistic practice, and everyone leaves the clinic with their own personalized protocol. This includes food and nutritional counseling, lifestyle suggestions such as specific exercise and relaxation techniques, and- of course- herbal recommendations. You will receive recommendations/prescription for your own personalized herbal formula (often a tea or tincture) and specific instructions on dosage and use. A follow-up visit 3-4 weeks after the initial consult is often recommended.
